Indian Cycling Project
A brand agnostic project, that offers an opportunity to the most whole athletes in Indian cycling, the hands-on mentorship to learn to leverage best-in-class systems in the sport, outside India. Some, may succeed.
Whole athletes are individuals with:
-
a passion for the sport of cycling
-
a high work rate in training
-
a support system around them
-
results at the elite-level in India
-
and who show an inclination to give back to their sport in some capacity
Hands-on mentorship includes:
-
Guiding preparation leading into the training block
-
Removing administrative road blocks - from Visa applications and trouble-shooting, to permission letters, to team invites, to securing accommodation, to travel logistics, and whole heap more
-
Help with budgeting and private fundraising to meet any financial gaps, if required
Best-in-class systems refers to:
-
The dense, high-quality, low-cost "kermesse" racing calendar that exists in the cycling stronghold of Belgium, that go on from March to October
-
Every day on the calendar sees half a dozen races,1.5-2x as hard as the Indian National Championships, with a strong field of riders from all over the world, all at a low cost of entry of about 5-10EURuros/400-800 INR per race
